Fused Ivory Tree Coral [Oculina varicosa]
Description
This species often appears as an ivory “tree” shape where branches seem fused together, creating a sturdier, more sculpted look than some other Oculina corals. Divers can see the coral’s surface texture up close, with small openings and ridges that become more apparent as you hover and let your eyes adjust.
