Fringe-scale lantern fish [Gonichthys cocco]
Description
This species, also known as the Cocco's lanternfish, is found globally in subtropical waters. It is a mesopelagic species, typically found at depths of 200-600 meters during the day and 10-100 meters at night. It features a distinctive pattern of photophores, or light-producing organs, on its body.
