Flabellum (Ulocyathus) deludens [Flabellum (Ulocyathus) deludens]
Description
Divers may spot this flabellum as a delicate, fan-like coral that often looks like a small, pale “feather” anchored to the seafloor. Its surface can appear subtly patterned, and when you swim past slowly, the polyps may seem to gently extend and retract. It’s a great example of how reef life can be both understated and mesmerizing up close.
