Favites colemani [Favites colemani]
Description
This Favites species forms substantial star-like colonies with a textured surface made of closely packed corallites. Under a diver’s gaze, the colony’s shape can appear irregular but still distinctly “star coral” in character, with thick, rounded lobes. You may also spot tiny reef dwellers tucked around the edges where the coral provides microhabitats.
