Encrusting Alcyonium [Alcyonium acaule]
Description
Alcyonium acaule, also known as the Encrusting Alcyonium, is a species of soft coral found in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. Unlike other species in the genus Alcyonium, this species grows in an encrusting form, spreading over rocks and other substrates. It is often found in deeper water, where it can form extensive colonies.
