Edwardsia octoplax [Edwardsia octoplax]
Description
Divers may spot this sea anemone as a low, spreading patch on rocky or hard substrates, often blending in with the surrounding seafloor. Its tentacles can look like a soft, feathery fringe when it’s feeding, giving the impression of a delicate “carpet” of life. In clearer water, it’s especially rewarding to watch how it subtly adjusts its tentacles to passing currents.
