Dwarf Violet Snail [Janthina exigua]
Description
The Dwarf Violet Snail, Janthina exigua, is a smaller species of Janthina. The shell is a vibrant violet color and can grow up to 12mm in length. Like other Janthina species, it floats at the sea surface on a raft of bubbles. It is found in warmer waters, particularly in the tropics, and feeds primarily on free-floating hydrozoans.
