Dusky flounder [Apionichthys dumerili]
Description
The Dusky Flounder is a marine species that primarily inhabits sandy or muddy bottoms in coastal waters. It is a flatfish with an oval body and a small head. Its coloration is variable, generally dark brown, with many small darker spots. It can reach a maximum length of about 25 cm. Not much is known about its feeding habits, but it is assumed to feed on small invertebrates.
