Disc Coral [Fungia fungites]
Description
The Disc Coral, also known as Mushroom Coral, is a solitary, free-living coral that resembles the shape of a disc or a mushroom. It is usually circular in shape, but can also be elongated or irregular. The color can vary widely, from brown to cream, purple or green. It is found in shallow regions of the Indo-Pacific coral reefs, and it feeds by extending its tentacles at night to catch plankton.
