Description
Cottapistus cottoides, commonly known as the Cape clingfish, is found in the Southeast Atlantic Ocean. This species is distinguished by a broad and flattened head and a tapering body. Their coloration can vary greatly, but they typically have dark bands or blotches. Cape clingfish reside on rocky substrates and are known to attach themselves to surfaces using a strong adhesive disc found on their underside. They feed on small invertebrates.
