Description
The Common Piddock is a marine bivalve mollusk recognized for its ability to bore into a variety of substrates, including clay, peat, and even soft rock. The shell is elongated and cylindrical, white in color, with a sculptured surface. The anterior end of the shell is rounded, while the posterior end tapers to a point. This species is common in the intertidal and subtidal zones across the Atlantic coasts of Europe and North Africa.
