Clam Shell [Tellina virgata]
Description
The Clam Shell, or Tellina virgata, is a bivalve species that lives in sandy and muddy bottoms of shallow coastal waters. It has a compressed shell with a sharp and curved posterior end, and can reach up to 2 cm in length. The shell color varies from white to yellow or pink. This species is found in the Western Atlantic, from North Carolina to Brazil.
