Chain pipefish [Syngnathus louisianae]
Description
The Chain pipefish, native to the Western Atlantic, from Canada to Brazil, is characterized by its chain-like pattern along the body. They inhabit seagrass and algae beds in coastal waters. Just like other pipefish species, the males carry the eggs in a brood pouch.
