Catostylus tripterus [Catostylus tripterus]
Description
Catostylus tripterus is a striking jellyfish with a wide bell and flowing oral arms that can look like delicate streamers in the water. Divers may see it slowly pulsing and drifting, sometimes in small groups when conditions are favorable. Because jellyfish can sting, it’s best to observe rather than approach closely.
