Caryophyllia (Caryophyllia) cornulum [Caryophyllia (Caryophyllia) cornulum]
Description
This coral can present as small, horn- or knob-like projections that grow from a firm base on the seafloor. Divers may find it in sheltered rocky areas where it’s protected from strong surge, yet still receives enough flow to feed. Up close, the colony’s intricate surface texture makes it a rewarding subject for macro photography.
