California Tube Worm [Timarete californica]

Description
This species is native to the Pacific coast of North America, particularly California, hence its common name. Like other tube worms, they construct a tube from sand or mud and live inside it. They have long, feathery tentacles that they use to filter food particles out of the water. They are typically found in shallow, intertidal zones.
