Brown Giant Jellyfish [Chrysaora melanaster]
Description
This larger Chrysaora is a striking sight, with a broader, darker-toned bell and long, trailing tentacles that can sway in the current. Underwater, it often appears like a slow-moving lantern, drifting rather than darting. Divers may notice it from a distance before it glides closer—avoid contact, as its tentacles can deliver a painful sting.
