Broad-nosed pipefish [Syngnathus typhle]
Description
Broad-nosed pipefishes are found in the Northeast Atlantic, from Norway to Morocco. They inhabit shallow coastal areas, hiding in dense vegetation. They are characterized by a wider snout compared to other pipefish species and have a brownish color with dark spots. Males carry the eggs in a brood pouch under the tail.
