Branching Hammer Coral [Euphyllia paraancora]

Description
Branching Hammer Coral, also known as Euphyllia paraancora, is a large polyp stony coral (LPS). They are known for their polyps that extend outwards, giving them a unique, hammer-like appearance. These corals are predominantly found in the Indo-Pacific region, specifically in the waters of Fiji and Tonga. Branching Hammer Corals prefer moderate lighting and water movement. One of its distinguishing features is its ability to sting other corals to compete for space. They are often green or brown in color.
