Bramble Shark [Echinorhinus brucus]
Description
The Bramble Shark is a rare species of shark in the family Echinorhinidae, and is found worldwide in temperate and tropical seas. It is a deep-water species that can be found down to at least 900 meters. This species is characterized by a cylindrical body, short snout, and two small dorsal fins. Its body is covered in thorn-like dermal denticles. The Bramble Shark primarily feeds on bottom-dwelling organisms. Similar to the Prickly Shark, the Bramble Shark is ovoviviparous.
