Blue Prawn [Trachysalambria curvirostris]
Description
Trachysalambria curvirostris, commonly known as the blue prawn, is a species of prawn that is widely distributed in the Indo-West Pacific region, from the east coast of Africa to Japan and Australia. This species has a blue coloration, and is typically found in shallow waters, usually not deeper than 50 meters. It is a commercially important species and is often harvested for food. The blue prawn is characterized by a curved rostrum and a body length that can reach up to 16 centimeters.
