Black Skipjack [Symphorus nematophorus]
Description
The Black Skipjack, also known as Symphorus nematophorus, is a predatory species of tuna found in the tropical and subtropical seas worldwide. It is a schooling fish that is most commonly found in open waters. This species has a dark blue color on its back that transitions to a silvery white color towards its belly. It is distinguished by its elongated, torpedo-shaped body and a series of black spots along the lower sides of its body.
