Balanophyllia parvula [Balanophyllia (Balanophyllia) parvula]
Description
This species is typically seen as tiny, closely packed polyps clinging to rock, ledges, or other hard surfaces. Under good visibility, divers can notice subtle color differences and the way polyps extend and retract with light and flow. It’s a great example of how much life can be hiding in small crevices.
