Baikal Seal [Pusa sibirica]
Description
The Baikal Seal, also known as the nerpa, is found exclusively in the deep waters of Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia. This small seal species has a rounded body with a small head and short muzzle. It is characterized by its silvery-gray coat and dark spots. Baikal Seals are solitary and primarily feed on a variety of fish and invertebrates. They are one of the few seal species that reside in freshwater environments.
