Bagwhale [Balaenoptera acutorostrata]
Description
Although you won’t always get close enough for detailed viewing, divers can sometimes encounter these small rorquals as they glide through colder waters. Look for a smooth, streamlined silhouette and the telltale “blow-and-go” behavior from the surface, with the possibility of seeing the back and flukes during brief passes.
