Ascension frigatebird [Fregata aquila]
Description
The Ascension frigatebird is a large seabird in the frigatebird family which breeds on Boatswain Bird Island just off Ascension Island in the tropical Atlantic Ocean. Until 2001, it was thought to be a subspecies of the great frigatebird. It is a large, glossy black bird with a long, deeply forked tail.
