Ascarosepion apama [Ascarosepion apama]
Description
Divers may spot this cuttlefish cruising just above sandy or muddy bottoms, often pausing to hover and scan the seafloor. Its camouflage can make it look like a patch of substrate until it shifts posture or changes color. If you watch quietly, you might see quick, darting movements as it investigates nearby shelter.
