Aplidium circumvolutum [Aplidium circumvolutum]

Description

Divers may encounter this tunicate as a colony with a more wrapped or convoluted look, often growing along the contours of rocks. In motion, the colony’s surface texture becomes more obvious, and small openings or separations between zooids can be glimpsed with close inspection. It’s a subtle but fascinating “micro-habitat” builder in rocky underwater landscapes.
