Aplidium antillense [Aplidium antillense]

Description

This species is typically seen as a colony growing on submerged hard surfaces, forming a textured, sometimes lumpy sheet. Under good light, divers can pick out the openings where the tunicate draws in water to feed. It’s the kind of small, reef-detail organism that rewards slow, careful scanning of walls and overhangs.
