Aplidium abyssum [Aplidium abyssum]

Description

Divers may notice this species as a small, encrusting colonial tunicate that forms low, patchy growths on hard substrates like rocks or ledges. In good light it can look subtly textured, with individual zooids packed closely together, giving the colony a delicate, “carpet-like” appearance.
