Antarctic Minke Whale [Balaenoptera bonaerensis]

Antarctic Minke Whale
Description

In Antarctic and sub-Antarctic waters, divers may see minke whales moving with quick, efficient strokes between feeding areas. They can appear as a dark, streamlined shape that surfaces briefly—sometimes close enough to catch the curve of the back and the timing of a rapid breath before they disappear again.
