Anemone Coral [Goniopora petiolata]
Description
This coral is often recognized by its prominent polyp “stalks” that lift the feeding tips above the colony surface. Divers can see the polyps extend outward like tiny lanterns, giving the reef a delicate, animated appearance. Because it can be sensitive to disturbance, it’s best admired from a respectful distance while it feeds and sways with the flow.
