Anemone Coral [Goniopora cellulosa]
Description
Goniopora cellulosa typically forms rounded mounds or clumps with many small, tentacle-like polyps. When conditions are right, the polyps extend outward, giving the colony a fuzzy, anemone-like appearance that stands out on reef slopes. Divers may notice it looking more “open” during the day or when water flow is favorable.
