Description
The American Plaice, also known as the American Flounder, is a North Atlantic flatfish that ranges from southern Labrador to Rhode Island. It is a cold-water species that lives in deep waters during summer and moves to shallower areas during winter. The American Plaice is a right-eyed flounder, with both eyes situated on the right side of its body. It has a reddish-brown body with a white belly and is known to live up to 30 years.
