American Mud Piddock [Barnea parva]
Description
The American Mud Piddock is another species of marine bivalve mollusk that burrows into soft substrates. Its shell is white, elongated, and cylindrical with a rough surface. Unlike the Atlantic Mud Piddock, this species has a more rounded posterior end. It is typically found in the lower intertidal and shallow subtidal zones along the North American Atlantic coast.
