Alcyonium sollasi [Alcyonium sollasi]
Description
This species is often seen as a soft, fleshy colony that can range from pale to deeper tones depending on location and lighting. Divers may notice the colony’s polyps subtly extending, creating a gentle, animated look even when the colony itself is mostly stationary. It’s a great example of how soft corals add structure and color to rocky reef habitats.
