Alcyonium graniferum [Alcyonium graniferum]
Description
This soft coral often appears as a lumpy, bumpy colony with a grainy or knobbly surface texture. Divers may find it attached to rocks or other hard substrates, where it forms a textured “carpet” of living tissue. When you get close, the colony’s irregular surface and subtle color variations can make it look like a natural sculpture.
