Alcyonium glaciophilum [Alcyonium glaciophilum]
Description
This species typically forms dense, cushiony or branching soft-coral growths that stand out against colder-water substrates. Underwater, it can look like a thick, living mat with a soft, fleshy texture. Divers may notice it in sheltered areas where currents bring food particles, and it often looks especially striking when light filters through the water.
