Alcyonium dendroides [Alcyonium dendroides]
Description
Often seen as a branching, tree-like soft coral, this species forms low, bushy clumps that sway gently with the surge. Divers may notice its velvety texture and muted tones, with polyps giving the surface a slightly “fuzzy” look up close. It’s a great example of how soft corals can create structure without the hard, stony skeleton of many reef builders.
