Alcyonium coralloides [Alcyonium coralloides]
Description
This soft coral can form branching or bushy growth that resembles a miniature coral garden—without the hard skeleton of stony corals. Divers frequently see it swaying in the water column, with its polyps giving the colony a fine, detailed look. It’s a great subject for close-up photography, particularly when the colony is backlit by sunlight.
