Alcyonium bosphorense [Alcyonium bosphorense]
Description
This soft coral typically grows as a fleshy colony attached to hard substrate, creating a noticeable, irregular shape that stands out from bare rock. Divers may see the colony subtly change texture as polyps open and close, especially when water flow increases. It’s a great example of how “soft” corals still have active, living feeding surfaces.
