Acanthastrea pachysepta [Acanthastrea pachysepta]
Description
This species is often seen as a robust colony with prominent, well-defined corallite walls that can make the structure look especially solid. Divers tend to notice the strong separation between neighboring cups, which gives the colony a crisp, architectural pattern. In the right conditions, the coral’s texture becomes striking in sunlight filtering down to the reef.
