Macquarie Shag [Leucocarbo purpurascens]
Description
The Macquarie Shag is a species of cormorant native to the Subantarctic Macquarie Island of Australia in the Southern Ocean. It is a large, black and white shag with a blue eye-ring. The species feeds in inshore waters, and breeds in colonies, nesting on cliff ledges.
