Scrolled Coral [Merulina scabricula]
Description
Merulina scabricula, known as Scrolled Coral, is a species in the family Merulinidae. It is native to the western Indian Ocean and the Red Sea. It is a hermatypic (reef-building) coral that forms large, flat, scroll-like plates. It is usually green or brown, with pale margins. It is found at depths between 3 and 20 meters in both lagoons and seaward reefs.
