Little Skate [Leucoraja erinacea]
Description
The Little Skate is a species of skate found along the northeastern coast of North America. The species is a bottom-dweller, preferring sandy or muddy bottoms at depths between 18 to 145 meters. It feeds primarily on small benthic invertebrates and fishes. It is characterized by a diamond-shaped body, light brown to gray coloration on the dorsal surface, and white ventral surface.
