Indian Sand Tiger Shark [Carcharias tricuspidatus]
Description
The Indian sand tiger shark, also known as the large-tooth sand tiger, is a species of shark known only from a few specimens in museum collections. It is believed to inhabit the Indian Ocean, specifically the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. However, due to a lack of recent sightings, very little is known about its habitat, behavior, and distinguishing features. It is potentially a synonym of Carcharias taurus, the sand tiger shark, but more research is needed to clarify the taxonomic status of this species.
