Bluegill Bully [Gobiomorphus hubbsi]
Description
The Bluegill Bully, or Gobiomorphus hubbsi, is a species of goby found in the rivers and lakes of New Zealand's North Island. It is a small fish, typically growing to about 7 cm in length. This species is distinctive for its blue-tinted gills, from which it gets its common name. This fish is nocturnal and feeds on small invertebrates.
