Lamarck's Sheet Coral [Agaricia lamarcki]
Description
Named after the renowned French biologist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck, this species can be found in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. It is known for its plate-like structures and it typically grows in deeper waters. It has small, closely spaced corallites and the color varies from brown to greenish-brown.
