Blue Whale [Balaenoptera musculus]
Description
The Blue Whale is the largest animal ever known to have existed. It prefers deeper ocean waters to coastal waters. It has a long, slender body that can reach lengths of up to 100 feet. Its body is bluish-grey dorsally and somewhat lighter underneath. It primarily feeds on krill and has a lifespan of around 70-90 years.
