Submarine canyon mussel [Abyssoninoe segonzaci]

Description
Abyssoninoe segonzaci is a deep-sea mussel species inhabiting submarine canyons. It is often found attached to steep, rocky substrates where it can access nutrient-rich currents. Like other deep-sea species, it is adapted to live in high-pressure, low-temperature, and low-light conditions. The shell of this species is typically dark brown, with a slightly more elongated shape compared to other species in the genus Abyssoninoe. It feeds by filtering out small particles from the water column.
